As you got up this morning, I watched you and hoped you would talk to me. Even if it was just a few words, asking my opinion or thanking me for something good that happened in your life yesterday Ė but I noticed you were too busy trying to find the right outfit to put on and wear to work.
I waited again. When you ran around the house getting ready, I knew there would be a few minutes for you to stop and say hello, but you were too busy. At one point you had to wait fifteen minutes with nothing to do except sit in a chair. Then I saw you spring to your feet. I thought you wanted to talk to me but you ran to the phone and called a friend to get the latest gossip.
I watched as you went to work and I waited patiently all day long. With all your activities I guess you were too busy to say anything to me. I noticed that before lunch you looked around, may be you felt embarrassed to talk to me, that is why you didnít bow your head. You glanced three or four tables over and you noticed some of your friends talking to me briefly before they ate, but you didnít. Thatís okay. There is still more time left, and I have hope that you will talk to me yet you went home ant it seems as if you had lots of things to do.
After a few of them were done you turned on the TV, I donít know if you like TV or not, just about anything goes thinking about anything just enjoying the show. I waited patiently again as you watched the TV and ate your meal, but again you didnít talk to me. Bedtime I guess you felt too tired After you said goodnight to your family you plopped into bed and fell asleep in no time.
Thatís okay because you may not realize that I am always there for you. Iíve got patience more than you will ever know. I even want to teach you how to be patient with others as well. I love you so much that I wait everyday for a nod, prayer or thought or thankful part of your heart. It is hard to have a one-sided conversation. Well, you are getting up again and once again I will wait with nothing but love for you hoping that today you will give me some time. Have a nice day!.

A Visit to the Airport
I went to the Abu Dhabi Airport to receive my aunt who is arriving from New York. As the flight was delayed I sat and looked around. I saw lots of people at the airport, some people were ad because their grand parents were going back, some people were waiting for their flight they looked very tired. They were with heavy baggage. Some people were happy because their parents were arriving , some were ready to board as their flights were announced, some children were traveling alone. Some people were buying some things for children at the airport. At last it was time for my auntís plane to land. We greeted her and gave her a warm very warm welcome.
Though I was tired, I enjoyed seeing various happenings at the Air port.

Weíll go out to play
But sometimes itís too hot
That in my house it will melt the pot
Itís better in winter
To wear a sweater
To keep me warm
Or Iíll go to India to visit my house
In the pleasant weather.

As we approached the year 2000.
It was in January 1999 when I started to hear about the Y2K problems. I heard people say different things about Y2K.
From what I heard was that the electricity would go off so people in flat should only use the staircase to get in or out of the building and it will be very dark at the night. I also heard that there will be some problems with the computer as it will not accept the two zeros which are meant to stand for 2000 (í00), and a lot of other silly tales which I remained septic about.
I was very surprised to see all the people so excited about the new approach of the millennium, as the world will be something else; totally different from 1999 and the years before.
I was even more surprised at the sight I saw at my window at 5 minutes to 12 oíclock midnight on the 31st December 1999. I was really confused, I saw all the people crowded at the Corniche and even more people are rushing there. I could hear shouting and yelling (or were they some ways to express happiness and
It was 1 minute to 12 oíclock when I realized that they were listening to some telephonic clock then I heard loud ear deafening sound as they heard it was 12 oíclock sharp, the new millennium has started- the turn of the century but all is same and nothing has changed, as for the computer problem, thatís a different story which I donít know about.

The real Dignity of man lies not in what he has but in what he is.
God create all men in different forms. Some short some tall, some good and some bad. But there is one thing in them which they are have and that is dignity. They are some men who are rich and some who are poor. It does not mean that the poor donít have dignity. The rich can buy anything with their money but canít buy love and friendship.
The poor have no money but have friends all over. Donít you realize that the poor have much dignity than the rich. After all what is dignity ?
Dignity is a high rank of good and controlled manners which lies within you. It all depends on how a person is and how he dignifies himself. How you behave, what you do reflects your personality and smart appearance may made a good impression on you. But never forget to take a deeper look into what lies behind that good and smart appearance. Are you going to regard him as being a dignified respectful person. Of course not.
Well never judge a book by its cover but by the contents that lie within. Mans outer personality is his cover and his inner qualities and deeds are the content matter.
Therefore the real dignity of man lies not in what he has but in what he is.

They are here ! Finally here!
After a year of lax and laziness, a pproaches the stage on which my entire life tree grows.
Wow! Isn't this dead serious !
Every day I fool around and act the goat inspite of all the advice.
Here I am sitting in my room going through my class album. It is raining cats and dogs and l can't go outside. As my mind riffles through the pictures I come across a photo along with a paper which had a brief description of my friends and me, concentrating hard to get our questions right in our History exam. Aah! I can still remember that day as if it was yesterday.
Just the day before examination, I burned the midnight oil studying. It was as if I was walking on thin ice. Every time I turned the pages I felt that I'd forgotten what was there on the page before. I slept at about 2.30 in the morning. It was a dark and gloomy day as my friends and I took up our battle positions for the ultimate finale. The sky was dark and cloudy and with it, were our hopes and dreams. However, we were not as much terrified as our history teacher was. He was practically biting his nails off. Nothing could have prepared us for the dreaded event, which, when it finally came, was so terrifying.
With the ring of the bell, the doomsday began "out of this world, perhaps from Pluto." Each one of us was staring at the other with a blank and extreme horror on the face. All of us were waiting for an absolute miracle to occur but this never changed into something real. Well, after what seemed decades, came the worst 21/2 hours of our lives. When we met after hading over our papers, none of us could look into the others face.
After a couple of weeks when the school reopened, we were presented with out achievements. All of us have got good grades in all papers except the history paper. All of us have passed the exam, and that is something great for most of us. However, the most unsatisfactory point was that our History teacher was hear-broken.
Aah ! that was the end of that.
Now, after going through this catastrophe, I think of what I could have done and what I would do in the near future to prevent a thing like this from happening especially now, that the IGCSE exams are over.
STUDY, STUDY,STUDY AND PRACTISE A LOT these words will take you away from failure and guide you towards success, also you will find yourself not fighting the exams but joining it.
Even though, according to me, no matter how much you study or work hard, examinations will always be our deadliest foe and a threat to our existence on the earth.

My Dolls Tea-Party
As soon as I eat my dinner and get ready to jump into bed, all my dolls keep waiting for my deep blue eyes to shut.
When the grand father clock strikes "MID-NIGHT", they all leap out form their shelves and get ready for having tea with bread. The little carriages lie in wait for the dolls who wear their beautiful victorian dresses with bannets and veils. Their partners escort them to the GRAND TEA-PARTY!
The cook doll, prepares the cookies, bread and cakes on her well lit stove, and the servants arrange the tables and chairs for the couples to sit and enjoy. They talk, dance, eat and celebrate their wonderful party.
When fluffy my pet cat enters my room and jumps onto my chest, she starts licking all over my face to wake me up for school. As soon as I twist and turn, all the dolls come back to their normal positions. When i woke up, I saw all my dolls in different costumes and different positions. I was shocked to see them that way but as turned. I saw my favourite doll wink at me. I thought i way dreaming and I walked away. I think it will take me years to find out about their "Secret Tea-Party !!"

In my times of sorrow & despair
I knew a friend who's always there
Your love and kindness
Destroyed my blindness
A good friend you always were.
Although through the future
I cannot see.
Loudly haired & lonely eyed
To break friendship you never tried.
But oh God!
This is out last day
In my dark days. I always will remeber my friends.
These good memories will keep rushing through,
So here's my last of good bye
I hope and try that a lonely friendship
will never ever & ever die.

People don't value blood,
Because not it blows like a flood,
People kill each other for a penny,
Because they think that people
are too many,
I have tried on my own, thrice,
To give these insane people some
Not until the day when their own
blood will flow,
The real value of "BLOOD" in the
minds will grow.

Book & Printing
As early as the 7th century, the Chinese carved word pictures onto blocks of woods. They spread ink on the raised parts, pressed papers on top, peeled it off and made a print.
Later, they put all their words on separate small blocks so they could move them around to make different sentences. This is called moveable type. Until the 15th Century most books were hand written, then copies by monks or scribes. They were very rare and expensive, but in those days very few people could read or write.
Then in 1450 Johannes Gutenberg set up the first printing press in Germany. It was made form an old wine press, and it is used moveable metal type. The first book that he printed was the Bible. Now, books could be made quickly and this spread new ideas and learning.
Gutenberg's method of printing was called letter press. He could print 300 sheets a day by hand. Modern printers use a system called Offset Lithography.

I love to think of my school as a garden
And my friends lovely colourful flowers
And butterflies with rainbow hues
Tasting the honey sweet friendship
We fight, We shout ,We quarrel,
We try to get even with each other
But we cannot get out of the school
At the end of the day, without making up
and without saying we love each other
We swear and curse our teachers
Behind their backs and make fun of them
When they are tough on us
But they are second set of parents to us
A thee bit less than god ,without
Whose love and guidance
We just wither away
We hate to study hard,
but we love to get"A"
We look forward to holidays
But we get choked when it goes on
And just want to get back
To the school that "we love to hate
The revolutionary invention of the 20thCentury
Maby things were invented and many are to be invented. One invention, which almost changed the look of the world was computers.Accurate weather forecasting, safe air travel, reliable medical technology - in today's world we take these things for granted, but they would be impossible without computers.
After all, whose brain is behind thisrevolutionary invention?. In 1834,
English inventor Charles Babbage designed the first programmable mechanical for the techniques of the day. In 1946 , the first fully electronic computer ,"EINAC",was built in the U.S.inthe 1980's transistors and microchips enabled computers to become smaller and more powerful. In the early 1990's web browsers opened up the internet to millions of private individuals.
Now,without computers , i feel ,all our lives would be plain and blank something like food without salt and pepper. We have computers in all the walks of our lives day by day ,the use of computers are increasing like anything ,even the number of users. Now a days computers are being introduced invery small fields. Some foreign countries ,are having schools ,where the computers does the work of teaching. This is how it is done.We have a teacher sitting somewhere else,in front of a computer .And all the students in a room ,with a computer in front of them. All the notes and explanation are given through the computer. This is because the computers are connected to each other. This shows us how computers are also advancing day by day.
Some people, say that computers are just machines which make people lazy.I think ,this is something which is very wrong to say. They never realize, how much hard work other people have put into make programs, which makes these computers run.But in someways ,I think those people are right. This is what many students do nowadays. If they are given a project ,instead of collecting information from various sources ,they would directly go to the computer, click on what they want, take print-outs and then present them to their teacher. They someetimes, might not even know, what is written .If we look more clearly, we disadvantages also do.
But,we do have advantages too. 10 to 15 years ago,if in the radio said that rain the next day people would take their clothes to put in the sun to dry. This is because technology was not advanced at that time.Today ,We have satellites, computers and many other things ,which gives us accurate information on which we can rely.
In today's fast moving world, computers are really helpful. They help us and make our work easier. So we can conclude by saying that the invention of computers has been the most important and the best invention of the country, which we have left behind.

It is truly said that manners make a man. We judge a man from his manners.
Good manners mean s conduct which does not give offence. Decent dressing ,charming manners and politeness are the essential conditions of
good manners. A man of good manners will go out of his way to see that he does not hurt the feelings and sentiments of others by his words, actions, behaviour or even silence.
In company, good manners demand that we should take only a fair share of conversation. We should give everybody else a chance to speak.Whenever somebody is speaking ,we should not interrupt or laugh or pass remarks. We ought to listen attentively, there by giving an impression that we respect him and value his utterances ,We should never speak ill of a person behind his back.
Good manners are an outward sign of a gentleman. They reflect good breeding and culture.A man of good manners will put everybody at ease. All wil enjoy his company and warmly welcome him. He is sure to create a very good impression every where. His smile and pleasing manners will do half his work if he has any work to be done.A man of good manners is quite at peace with himself and with the rest of the world.Life is easy ,smooth and lovely to him.
Bad manners generally spring from pride and arrogance .Sometimes rudeness and bluntness are justified on the grounds of sincerity. But there is no justification whatsoever for rudeness .This is enough bitterness in this world. Why should we add to it by our thoughtles words?
Good manners spring from our sympathy for others and from the awareness of our own limitations. Our sympathy for others is born out of genuine regard for them.We ought to realise that just as we value our self-respect ,others have the right to value their self-respect.Courtesy and kindness enhance the realization that we should always treat others as we expect them to treat us.

A dream of Money
One day ,a young man went to market with a basket of eggs on his head and a stick in his hand.
The Sun was hot and he stopped under a tree for rest.
He said "I'll sell all these in the market . I have five hens now, but with the money I'll buy ten hens. The ten hens will give ten eggs every day.In three months I'll buy ten more hens.In a
year , I'll have hundred hens and I'll be rich."
The young man leaned against the
tree and closed his eyes.
He said " Then I'll build a house with a high fence around it .People will jump over the fence.I'll hit them with a stick like this !"
And with his eyes still close,he took up his stick and hit the basket of eggs with it. When he opened his eyes he found all the eggs broken. He felt very sad and went back home with a sad face.

The sort of person Iam
The thing I enjoy doing the most is going to Corniche and taking Photographs.I love taking photographs because Iam good in it. At home ,I enjoy reading and singing . I also enjoy playing basketball with my sister and jumping on my bed. When Iam in a good mood, I will finish my home work .If I complete my home work in the evening ,I can disturb my brother. Before I go to bed,I'll listen to the walkman in my room where my brother can't come and bother me.I think the worst thing you can do is to sit in a plane for 8 hours. Inside the aeroplane ,I can't listen to the walkman and the movies are not so nice.I hate talking about the food but it is horrible. The food is not hot and there are so many vegetables.I also hate the stewardess because they take countless hours to get what the passengers need. The thing that I hate the most is the blankets. It is not so tjick and I fon't think they ever washed them.
