Following is important information for the current academic year closing and re-opening of the new academic year 2000-01.

 

FINAL EXAMINATIONS : The theory examination begins as per already issued time table on Tuesday, 30th May, 2000. School timings during examinations for all  classes will be from 7-30 a.m. to 11-00 a.m. On 29th May, the school will be off for all classes, except grades VII and VIII students who will be writing their Social Studies paper on that day from 7-30 a.m. to 10-30 a.m.

 

PARENTS-TEACHERS’ MEETING : The last PT meeting of the current academic year will be held on Wednesday, 24th May, 2000 from 6-30 p.m. to 9-00 p.m. School, as usual will close at 1-00 p.m. on that day.

 

FEES DUES : Parents are requested to clear their fees dues (if any) immediately. In any case these should be cleared before the start of the final examinations.

 

RESULTS :  Subject to approval by the Ministry of Education, the results will be issued to the parents on Sunday, 25th June, 2000 from 8-00 a.m. to 1-00 p.m. Results should be collected from the school stores on that day. Only those results which are withheld due to non-settlement of dues should be collected from the Reception.

 

ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES : Due to non-availability of staff during summer holidays, it is not possible to issue any kind of certificate from 8th July 2000 to 21st August, 2000. Hence, parents are requested to get the required certificates issued before the start of vacations.

 

Students, who are for any reason leaving the school at the end of the academic year should apply for “School Leaving Certificate” before 10th of June, 2000. Their certificates will be kept ready and issued along with the results. The application for school leaving certificate should clearly mention where the child is being transferred, i.e. within Abu Dhabi, outside Abu Dhabi but within UAE or outside UAE. The format of the certificate is different for each of these three categories.

 

TEXT BOOKS FOR THE YEAR 2000-01 :  Text books will be available in the school stores from 22nd August, 2000 either in the morning from 8-00 a.m. to 1-00 p.m. or in the evening from 6-00 p.m. to 8-00 p.m. Parents are requested to buy the books in time to avoid last minute rush at the counters.

 

There are changes in the lists of books for all classes. An attempt has been made to reduce the load of books for the students without compromising on the academic standards.

 

In English, GINN publications has discontinued the supply of the Original Reading 360 series and is therefore being replaced with the New Reading 360 series. The “Reasons for Writing” series is also being discontinued. Instead the same work will be done on similarly designed work sheets.

 

In Islamic Studies, the Iqra books are being discontinued but the Ministry prescribed books shall continue to be in use.

 

Classwise lists of books shall be made available before the close of the academic year. These shall be posted on the school website too.

 

NEW ADMISSIONS :  New admissions to all classes are already in progress. However, no admission test will be held from 8th July 2000 to 21st August, 2000.

 

RE-OPENING : The school will re-open on Saturday, 9th September, 2000 for all classes from KG-II to X. KG-I classes will begin from 12th September, 2000.

 

On the first three days, i.e. 9th, 10th and 11th September, there will be no self-study session and the school will close at 1-00 p.m. for all classes (KG-II to X). From 12th September, school timings will revert to their normal routine.
